I'm Kaycie and I'm currently 3/4 of the way through my MT(ASCP) training and certification. I live in Toledo, OH and am currently applying with the American Red Cross to work in their immunohematology reference lab here in Toledo.

Initially, blood banking was terrifying to me. I just couldn't imagine the stress, responsibility, the knowledge that any wrong result could be fatal, almost immediately, in some cases. However, upon my introduction into the practice and the techniques, along with theory, I found the field to be utterly fascinating. I live for logic-puzzles and problem solving cases. And blood banking is exactly that.

I've always been interested in medicine, especially lab medicine. I had initial plans of forensic pathology, but, after 4 years of college, was ready to NOT be in school for a little while. However, I have completed the pre-med coursework, along with a strong background in forensic science, should I decide that I've had enough of a break from school.

But right now, I'm delighted with the career I've chosen and couldn't be happier!

I love meeting people in the medical field, no matter what part of it they may be in so, drop me a line! I'd love to chat!
