It's always hard going into a new office, with new people.  You don't know how things "mesh" together, how the employee's/patients/doctors interact.  My first day the doctor greeted me and said " My names Brad, you can call me Dr. Brad".  I got the run of the place from another MA, and within 4 hours I was running patients and performing treatments, x-rays, and scheduling.  For me it seems, it all comes down to how "real" the office personel are.  Are they relaxed or tense??  All in all, my first day was a killer on my feet, but very enjoyable, when you can physically see the ease in pain on a patients face because of the treatments your administering.

MY FIRST DAY ON THE JOB WAS VERY FULFILLING. I STARTED OUT WORKING THERE ON MY EXTERNS,NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS VERY NERVOUS ,BUT AFTER I GOT USE TO THE SETTINGS AND HOW EVERYTHING  WAS RAN IT WAS A BREEZE.THE DOCTORS AND THE OTHER STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND UNDERSTANDING.THEY TALKED AND TRAINED ME THROUGH EVERTHING. I DID MAKE SOME MISTAKES DURING MY FIRST WEEK THERE (LIKE KNOCKING OVER A PATIENTS BIOPSY)BUT LIKE I SAID BEFORE THE DOCTORS  AND STAFF WERE UNDERSTANDING AND TOLD ME NOT TO BEAT MYSELF UP OVER THE MISTAKES, WE ALL MAKE THEM. IN THE END EVERTHING WAS A BREEZE I CAUGHT ON FAST AND BECAME GOOD ,I EVEN GOT HIRED! I LOVE MY JOB,IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD.

OMG..My first day at my doctors was "rough". The MA that was suppose to train me called in sick (apparently she did quite a bit of this). The next day she was fired for a "no show-no call. So, needless to say I had to assist for 2 doctors and just fumble my way through and try to do my best. Well, three years later , I am still employed and the head MA at the practice. Must have done something right or they just felt sorry for me (haha).
