What are some great films to watch on medicine, health, etc. (i.e. they're in the movie, like Hospital, for instance) you've rented or like. If they're on Netflix, so much the better.

"The Doctor": This is one of my favorite movies!! I want to become a doctor and this means so much to me, please view it. The doctor is a total jerk in the beginning, but as he is diagnosed with cancer, everything changes...

Check out a summary of it at: http://entertainment.circuitcity.com/Movies/Movie.aspx?prodid=WD2927703DVD&si=ccity-prod&store=Movies

one of the best medical movies which i love the most is PATCH ADAMS..... based on the true story of a compassionate but outrageous medical student who risks his career by defying the medical profession with his unwavering belief that laughter is contagious.

Using unconventional methods and wacky surprises to ease patients' anxiety and enhance their healing, Patch helped pioneer the then-startling idea that doctors should treat people, not just disease. Compassion, involvement and empathy, Patch holds, are as great a value to physicians as breakthrough medicines and technological advancements.

Something God Created is a HBO movie about the surgeons from Johns Hopkins who pioneered heart surgery.  This is the kind of movie you want to watch 100 times.

I guess its more of a mental health movie than medical movie, but     A Beautiful Mind  was an incredible film.  My friends brother developed schizophrenia and ended up killing himself, so I feel particularly emotional about the subject of mental illness i guess, and schizophrenia is so biologically based..
