For anyone considering a career as a PA, the section on this site has really helpful information about the profession as a whole. I would also recommend looking at the PAEA Web site for a list of schools that are accredited. The trend of the profession is to moving toward's a Master's level degree (and many PA schools now offer this or work with a program to jointly offer a degree to their students). Visit www.paeaonline.org.

And don't forget - there are excellent scholarship opportunities out there and every penny counts. Take a look at the Scholarship page here and consider how you might be eligible for some of the available funding out there.

Good luck to future PAs!

Thanks. I found this really useful. Why are PA's moving to master's? Just curious...

I had considered pursuing a career as a PA for a while. I talked, and shadowed, with a few professional PA, PA students and visited programs as well; however, I talked with several who with time decided to return to school to obtain an MD. I am afraid that with time I will want more independence and the possibility to practice abroad. Please tell me what you think.
