Posted 3 months ago How can you reverse the damage you have done to your bodies. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high tryglcerides, over weight, manic depressive, and i have smoked for years, not to mention they are checking me for diabetes. I know to quit smoking, but what diet could I go on that would reverse the damage I have done? |

| Posted 2 months ago Unfortunately there really is no way to wind back the clock on things that you have done to your body. The mistakes of the past are yours to keep... forever... Now that said... There are some very simple ways to make what's left of your body a little more healthy. For starters, if you look at it in any other way than that which I just put it, you are likely to get dissapointed and quit on yourself. Don't. Quitting smoking is the first step, because continuing to smoke will directly interfere with many of the other things that you will want to change. Smoking messes with your appetite, and aggrivates your manic depression, and elevates your blood pressure. While you are quitting, and continuing afterward, you should begin by adding more physical activity into your life. So often we get stuck behind desks and in front of couches. No matter what your age or weight or percieved level of physical fitness, start slow and build... Take the stairs, walk those two blocks to the convenience store instead of driving. Bike to work if it's less than five miles away... Who knows, maybe you get to a point where you can do more... that would be great too. Physical excersise is the surest way to kick your body back into good internal habbits. It will also help moderate appetite, even more efficiently than the nicotine does, because physical excersise doesn't exactly have the same massive crash that leads you to that next, next, next, next, damn I'm going to need to go to the store and get another pack. Also the weight loss is the largest part of preventing secondary diabetes, as well as treating it once you have it. |
