I am 19 and have had my EMT license for more than a year now. All the jobs I have applied for require a year or more of experience. Well my question is how do you get past that? I will never receive experience if no one will give me a job to start with. All suggestions are helpful to get over this obstacle. Thanks so much!!

Hi,

I know exactly what you mean!!!  I graduated in 2000 from a nursing program but decided to take time off to raise my family and take care of an ill parent.  No is interested in hiring a rn with no experience even in this shortage.  I am taking a refresher course but I don't know if it will help obtaining a job.  Hang in there, it can't hurt applying.

I am still in medical assisting school.  I would like to however, start some kind of employment within the medical field until I get my diploma and really gain some experience.  What can I do??
