Everyone I know is getting into the medical field now.  Most of the people i know have become registered nurse practioners by now... I was laid off from 16 years in the travel industry and had the opportunity to back to school at 45 years old.   still young...

I was not sure which position/s really interested me. The friends I know in medical field were discouraging me from nursing... said I would not like it. The only thing left at the school I attended was Medical Assistant or Pharmacy Tech.  My math was not good enough to be a Pharmacy tech so I went for Medical Assisting.  I finished school up and had trouble getting work because I was not Bi-ligual. the doctor wher ei did my clinics actually told me that if i spoek spanish he would have hired me.. The class never taught me spanish , or creole, or haitian... or any second language but that was what preventing me from being hired  from employers in my surrounding community

I dont have mom and dad to support me so i had ot get work as a temp  in administrative clerical duties.  I am still temping.. although the temp jobs are gettings fewer and fewer because fo the recession.

I guess one of  my priorities is to learn a second language at my cost of course...  but it sounds critical that I do so...  guessing thats life in south florida. lol

I have been so dissapointed since i worked so hard and recieved good grades at 45... very dissappointing that I was not able to get work  because I didnt speak a second language...

I would like to enter the healthcare field.. justv the same , but probably by the time I am  50 I'll know spanish and have taken another course... at my expense of course.
